I
received a UniTray, & haven't suffered any pain since. The UniMouse
is a very comfortable design, and combined with the UniTray, it's
a great choice for someone who uses a mouse for eight hours a day.

| The wrist
pad provides a comfortable resting surface and definitely reduces
hand fatique. The mousing surface is smooth and allows the user to
have adequate cursor control. The tray surface is adequate for most
users. One of our reviewers, with exceptionally large hands, wished
for additional inches of available mousing surface. |

The
UniTray, a mouse pad from Contour shines brightly on a computer
store shelf. It shows off it's vivid colors and sleek designs, and
just yells out "try me!" It's worth all that it looks...
The
UniTray isn't the normal mouse pad. It comes with a gel wrist pad
which one's wrist lays comfortably on.
Pros:
Sleek design, comfortable gel wrist pad, smooth surface for easy
control over one's mouse.
Who
it's for: People looking to support their wrists and colorize
their computer
Overall
Rating: 4 (out of 5) Hockey Pucks

Design also makes an ergonomic mouse pad, the UniTray. I highly recommend
it no matter whose mouse you use; it really does make a noticeable
difference in comfort and performance. |

At
first, I was wondering how I was going to write a worthwhile review
for 2 very simple products; a mouse and a mousetray. But, after
using Contour Designs UniMouse and UniTray, I now know how!
The UniMouse is a fully hot-pluggable USB peripheral, and the UniTray
will work with any mouse; USB or not! :)
The
UniTray comes in lime, tangerine, strawberry, grape, blueberry,
and banana. True, there isnt an Apple product in banana (word
has it that there will be soon), but thats all the reason
to get one. Think Different!
The
UniTray is a mouse tray with a surface that feels nice. It too,
comes in the aforementioned 6 colors, plus plain ol black.
The design and look of the UniTray is very, very cool. Below the
mousing surface is a gel pad for palm support, which has an interesting
design; it is level with the mousing surface, so if you should drag
the mouse down low, it will not get blocked. Ive used other
mouse trays, and that is definitely an annoying attribute. In the
time that Ive used the UniTray, Ive never had any problems
with blocking of the mouse or moving the mouse off the mousing surface.
Additionally, the gel pad is height adjustable, via a spacer, which
allows you to customize the palm support the height. The material
that the mousing surface is made out of is very nice, and the tracking
of the mouse feels real good.
All
in all, Im very impressed by Contour Designs two product
offerings for the Mac. They are both build solidly, and work as
promised. Contour Design has other products in the works, which
should (again) revolutionize current ideas. I look forward to seeing
whats next from them.

Contour
UniTray
By

The
UniTray is a mousepad available in seven different casings (the
five iMac colors, black and "banana") with an integrated
gel wrist rest at its base. I received a tangerine UniTray for review,
and aside from the fact that it clashes with the beige-ness of every
computer component on my desk, I found the UniTray quite stylish.
The UniTray's mousing surface allows smooth mouse motion, but is
a bit narrower than other mouse pads I've used. Unlike the Kensington
Sport mousepad it replaced on my desk, the UniTray's gel wrist rest
is flush with the mousing surface, rather than raised to meet your
wrist. Contour claims that raised wristrests encourage the user
to maneuver the mouse with the wrist, leading to possible wrist
problems. I found the flat wrist rest useful for a different reason:
the Perfit mouse is so large that it is quite difficult to use it
with a raised-wristrest mousepad.
Contour
sells the UniTray for $19.95, a fairly steep price considering how
freely mouse pads are thrown around these days; however, purchasers
of a Contour mouse can snag one for the more reasonable price of
$9.95. Owners of fruit-flavored Macintosh models will find it a
colorful complement to their desktop.
Contour
UniTray
Pros: Smooth and stylish
Cons: Expensive (unless you buy a Contour mouse), narrow surface

The
UniTray definitely deserves a place underneath your Contour UniMouse.
Used
together they provide the ultimate in computing comfort.
The
Ultra-Glide surface of the UniTray is absolutely the smoothest and
best mousing surface that I have ever used.

First off, I like it because it is
huge. It is important to have a lot of space on a mouse pad, especially
if you do any kind of graphical design or if you have a big screen.
A big issue is always about how precise
the surface is. Well, after several weeks of testing, no problems
at all. I used to work with a 3M mouse pad (really precise one)
and the UniTray works as well as my former pad did. This is where
most mouse pads will fail, but the UniTray succeeds.

The UniTray is a great mouse surface.
The size is 11.75" by 7.5" and provides a 7" by 7"
mouse surface. It places the mouse about 3/4" off the desk
top. The proximal portion with the wrist pad slopes down to 3/8"
off the desk top. The rolling surface grips the mouse ball very
well so there shouldn't be any pointer skipping if it is kept clean.
The wrist pad is just about right in resiliency, not too hard and
not too soft.
It is a much better mouse surface
than a foam pad, whether the foam pad is topped with lycra or a
more rigid material.

The
UniTray is ingenuous only in that it raises the UniMouse and your
hand above the table. Your wrist sets on a squishy comfortable wrist
pad and the mouse sits level with the pad on a hard surface covered
with a smooth film. This forces your hand and wrist to be completely
straight and in a resting position. The mouse is tall enough that
your hand sits in a cupped position like it's supposed to at rest,
and your wrist is flat with the UniTray. This is an amazing feel.
Finally, I give it a rating 4 out of 5 iMacs.

Ci siamo occupati spesso del mouse
fornito dalla Apple in dotazione con iMac e recentemente anche con
i nuovi sistemi G3 blu e bianchi.
