The UniMouse is compatible with
iMac's, B&W G3's and G4 computers from Apple. Due to a recent
change in Apple's USB keyboard design there may be an incompatiblility
between the UniMouse an a limited number of Apple's keyboards.
Only
a limited number of keyboards are affected. We are recommending
a temporary work-around.
If your UniMouse does
not work when plugged into a keyboard USB port, then the
UniMouse should be be plugged into ANY USB port (USB Port #2)
on your iMac, G3, or G4 other than the keyboard. Each computer
has a second USB port or, you can also use a powered USB hub to
plug your UniMouse into. Your mouse should function normally at
this time. You can continue to load the Drivers from this
page.

| both OS 9
and OS X |
Is there a
Control Panel available for the UniMouse? |
Yes; the Control
Panel allows application sensitive button settings and scrolling
via Auto-Scroll function. |
| OS 9.x and
earlier |
I've installed Contour Overdrive
v1.3.7 but the settings do not take effect.
|
Once in the Contour Overdrive Control
Panel, click the Options and then click Use Custom Mouse Drivers.
When the next screen pops up click Use Custom. You will then have
to unplug your mouse and plug it back in to activate it.
|
| Does the UniMouse
have a Scrolling feature? |
Yes we have
implemented Auto-Scroll via our Contour
Overdrive software. Using the Auto-Scroll function programmed
for any button you would just hold the button and move the mouse
forwards, backwards, left, or right to scroll in that direction.

I just installed Netscape 6 and
I can't scroll anymore, what's the problem?
|
Unfortunately Netscape made an error.
Netscape is working on a fix but there is nothing we can do. Best
bet is to use either Netscape 4.71 or Internet Explorer until
the patch is released if you really want to use scrolling.

|
I installed the UniMouse and it
was working fine. Now the buttons all just do a single click.
|
If you have recently installed
new hardware or software, you should check those manufacturers
web sites for the latest updates and install them. Older iMacs
(rev A thru E) then should re-apply the Apple iMac Update 1.1
again. Or the Mac
OS ROM Update if you are running OS 8.6. Newer iMacs G3s,
G4s, Powerbook G3 Bronze, iBooks all should not need more updates
than what comes with the system. Call tech support if you need
help.

Does the UniMouse work with Virtual
PC?
|
Yes. We are a standard USB device.
By using our Contour
Overdrive software you can pass the buttons through the Mac-OS
to the Virtual PC software to emulate PC Right click. You would
simply assign the mouse a (shift-click) which is the default to
get the right click in VPC.
|
|
Does the UniMouse perform "Right
Click" in Soft Windows/ Virtual PC?
|
Yes. You would use our Contour
Overdrive software to perform an application sensitive setting
and pass right button settings to the Mac-OS(usually shift-click
or option-click). This would allow normal PC operation of a two-button
mouse. Tested on VPC 2.x - 3.0.
|
|
Does the UniMouse work with Games?
|
Yes. By using our Contour
Overdrive software it passes the necessary hooks through to
the Mac-OS using the Apple supplied InputSprocket for Quake, UnReal,
and the upcoming Quake 3 when released. You simply select each
button in a new configuration for each game to "Pass to Mac
OS". This allows the mouse to be used in 3 button mode. To
make sure this works properly the Enabled box should NOT be checked
for custom configs for games. This allows the Input/Game Sprockets
to be activated.

My PB G3(bronze) does not wake from
sleep with the UniMouse plugged in.
|
This is the correct function of
the PB G3. It was actually designed this way and not a bug. You
can verify this with an Apple mouse.
