| I'll
gladly recommend the replacement of the iMac mouse with this hot pluggable
USB UniMouse. For those that price makes a difference, the UniMouse
is definitely one of the least expensive USB mice available. Whether
you are looking for comfort, increased functionality, adjustable mouse
reaction sensitivity or the ability to adjust the mouse to perform
different functions for different programs the UniMouse does it all.
It is simple to program the UniMouse's three buttons. |

...the
Contour Design UniMouse is everything you need in a mouse, and nothing
you don't. And the price is unbeatable - at $35 retail, it's one
of the least expensive USB mice in its class.
For
users suffering pain caused by Apple's "hockey puck",
a UniMouse may be just what the doctor ordered. For a long time,
I've scoffed at users' claims that a multi-button mouse can improve
their productivity, but after a few weeks of using one, I'd have
to say that I agree with them.
|
 |
| The shape of the mouse
fits the hand wonderfully. UniMouse has a very symmetrical and comfortable
feel to it. I recommend this product to anybody looking
for a decent mouse at a reasonable price |

Although
the exterior of the mouse is a joy to use, the real beauty lies
within the power inside your Mac.
It
allows you to program the UniMouse's three buttons, select the sensitivity
at which you'd like your mouse to react, and even program different
preferences for different applications.
Pros:
Ergonomic, cheap, customizable, three-button mouse.
Cons:
It doesn't include an automated alarm when your friends try to steal
it.

Currents 5th Annual Gift Guide
Let's
face it: The standard mouse that comes with the iMac, the blue-and-white
G3, and the G4 is a wrist wrecker. Apple continues to ignore customer
complaints about this translucent cow pie. Contour Design has come
to the rescue with the UniMouse, a full-sized, comfortable mouse
that is available in all five iMac flavors as well as G4 graphite.
Download drivers from the company's Web site and you can program
the three buttons to perform such functions as double-click, control+click,
option+click, scroll, and more.

Contour
Design's UniMouse is the ideal gift for anyone who's ready to ditch
the abysmal round mouse that comes with iMacs and G3s. Contoured
to nestle comfortably in the average user's palm, the UniMouse has
rubberized sides that make it easy to grip the mouse. Using special
control-panel software available from the company's Web site, you
can adjust the UniMouse's sensitivity in 15 discrete steps. The
control panel also lets you program the three buttons to perform
functions such as clicking, dragging, and scrolling. Whichever option
you choose, the UniMouse is a joy to use.

When
you first try out the UniMouse, youll immediately notice how
it seems to fuse with the palm of your hand, as if the two were
meant to be together.
The
rubber grips located on the sides are a perfect addition to an already-great
design. In short, this is one hulluva mouse.
what
makes the UniMouse really great is the software that works with
it. UniMouse Overdrive
Overall,
the UniMouse is a great replacement for those wishing to trash their
old Apple mouse. Its truly comfortable, has great software,
and is made by a company who really knows their stuff.

Contour
Design has a winner with it's UniMouse. Without a doubt it was the
most popular mouse that the wrecking crew tested. Even before touching
the UniMouse folks were saying "cool", "wow, looks
neat!" etc.
MacFuture
happily recommends the UniMouse. Ummmm...... make mine banana.

At
first, I was wondering how I was going to write a worthwhile review
for 2 very simple products; a mouse and a mousetray. But, after
using Contour Designs UniMouse and UniTray, I now know how!
The UniMouse is a fully hot-pluggable USB peripheral, and the UniTray
will work with any mouse; USB or not! :)
Starting with the UniMouse, I have to hand it to Contour; this mouse
feels better than any other mouse Ive used before. The size
and shape of the mouse perfectly fits into my hand and it
just feels right. The sides of the mouse have rubberized grips,
which also feel very nice in your hand. If you are using an iMac
or new G3 hockey puck mouse, once you try the UniMouse,
you will NEVER go back. Trust me on this!
The UniMouse comes in 6 colors; lime, tangerine, strawberry, grape,
blueberry, and banana. True, there isnt an Apple product in
banana (word has it that there will be soon), but thats all
the reason to get one. Think Different!
With the new Control Panel, which is based upon USB Overdrive,
you can now select your choices on the fly, and it works 100% flawlessly.
All in all, Im very impressed by Contour Designs two
product offerings for the Mac. They are both build solidly, and
work as promised. Contour Design has other products in the works,
which should (again) revolutionize current ideas. I look forward
to seeing whats next from them.

Pros:
Perfect shape and size. Awesome Control Panel to customize all three
buttons. Nice choice of colours.
The
UniMouse also answers the call that some professional users have
been screaming about for years. Three buttons! Two medium-sized
buttons and a smaller raised one in the middle of the two.
Definitely
the feature that makes it stand out from other multi-button mice
is the awesome configurable Control Panel.

Pros: Big, 3 Programmable Buttons, Good Color Matching.
Cons: None. |
|
The
UniMouse is designed to almost mold into your hand with it's future
car design, and side rubber grips.
Did
I mention three WONDERFUL buttons? With the driver software you
can have each button do a different action.
One
really nice part about the mouse is that you plug it in and it just
works! You only need the drivers if you want to add functions to
the buttons. It is also the best iMac add-on in color matching.

Avoiding Apple's mouse trap
RATING:
4.5(out of a possible 5)
HOT: Ergonomic; User-configurable three-button design; great price;
NOT round!
It's
ergonomic; shaped almost perfectly to fit into the palm of your
hand, the UniMouse slopes gently away from a high point at its center,
and flattens off at its two large fingertip buttons, your index
and middle finger straddling the small third button for quick access.
Large rubberized cutouts are raised slightly along the mouse's sides
to grip with your thumb and fingertip for control, and the height
is near perfect, supporting your hand in a natural position that
allows your wrist to relax.

Summer
1999
Of
all the standard mice, the UniMouse felt the best to me. It fit
comfortably in the palm of my hand and there were two rubber "grips"
on either side of the mouse for better control and stability. The
combination of software, buttons, and sheer comfort makes this the
best mouse of the bunch.
The Final Decision
Comfort, customizaability and ease of use makes the Contour UniMouse
the one to beat.

The
maker of the ever-popular multisized ergonomic mouses has now jumped
into the translucent arena with their new UniMouse, and ambidextrous
three button ergo mouse that comes in six
colors (Blueberry, Strawberry, Tangerine, Lime, Grape, and Banana),
giving them an edge over other USB replacement mice from Kensington
and MacAlly.
The
UniMouse is the first multi-button USB mouse for the Macintosh,
and now finally has a user configurable Control Panel, which is
cool, because the past USB drivers for the UniMouse came in 35 different
configurations per hand, each one having a different button configuration.
The Control Panel allows you to set either global settings for the
mouse, or to set them to be application specific, and even allows
InputSprockets to assign commands to the buttons. Another feature
allows the middle button (the slender one) to be setup as a scroll
lock - where if you hold down on the button, you can then move the
mouse in any direction to scroll that direction - great for moving
through long web pages.
The
UniMouse is an excellent choice for replacing Apple's round mouse
that comes bundled with your iMac or G3, and really one ups the
other manufacturers on features, styling, and usability.

When
Contour Design, Inc. introduces a new input device, Mac users should
stand up and take notice.
Let's face it, the USB mouse that Apple is shipping with the iMac
and Blue G3s isn't winning any design awards. Eventually iMac and
G3 owners are going to desire a replacement that provides more functionality,
better comfort, and complete compatibility. The UniMouse does all
of this. And it's absolutely the best-looking USB mouse on the market
today due to its beautiful, not trashy, translucent plastics.

With my ADB mouse,
I used to have wrist problems and sometimes pain in the right arm
from time to time, especially if I had to spend many hours on the
computer during a day. It was so painful the following day. I tested
the UniMouse for several weeks, and I didn't go through this kind
of pain once, even though I had to spend a few busy days in front
of my Mac, especially when I had to work with Photoshop (I use my
mouse an awful lot in Photoshop).

The UniMouse is a great improvement
over Apple's disc-mouse supplied with iMacs and new B&W PowerMac
Pro G3s. The feel is better, it is more comfortable to use and the
functionality is significantly increased -- I really like it. The
blueberry UniMouse has found a permanent home attached to my Rev.A
bondi iMac.

Some
people hate the iMac mouse. I personally buy into the ergonomics
of the fingertip mouse. Unfortunately, my hand HATES the iMac mouse.
Apparently it is really made for children originally. With that
in mind, the ever-lasting search for a better mouse is on.
Well,
I've tried a couple of other mice, and I've come along my favorite,
which I'm using now.

Sorry, Apple, but although a circular
mouse may look cool, the ergonomics are terrible and the usability
is even worse. The problem is this: you're never sure you've grabbed
Apple's USB mouse the right way until the cursor goes the wrong
way.
Oops, grabbed it sideways again.
Based on a day with the UniMouse,
I'm sold.

If
you're an iMac/G3 user like myself, chances are you've grown accustomed
to Apple's hockey puck mouse. Call it a donut, call it a nuisance,
but whatever you call it, you can put a stop to the puck, once
and for all. Get a life! Your mouse doesn't have to do the hula
anymore!
Get Contour Design's USB 3-Button UniMouse to end the misery and
increase your productivity.

I like my iMac, and I love my new
Blue G3. But the love affair doesn't extend to the "iPuck"
(not the official moniker), Apple's oval mouse that comes with both
machines.
The iPuck is just too easy to get
turned upside down and doesn't feel big enough. (In all fairness,
though, I must report that my kids love it.) So now I'm using the
UniMouse from Contour Designs. And, folks, this three-button baby
is a Mighty Mouse.

At first look the mice blew me away.
They were vibrantly colored, and had an almost identical color match
to their iMac counterparts. After I stopped gawking at the beautiful
colors I took the mouse upstairs downloaded the drivers from their
web-site, and hooked up the Uni-Mouse. After toying around with
the mouse for a few minutes I realized that the Uni-Mouse was much
more than another pretty face.

| Ci siamo occupati spesso del mouse
fornito dalla Apple in dotazione con iMac e recentemente anche con
i nuovi sistemi G3 blu e bianchi.
