Troubleshooting

"The mouse settings are not applied, and my mouse still behaves as usual". You may try to:

  1. Open the Contour Overdrive Control Panel
  2. Once the control panel is open and the front application you will see OPTIONS at the top of the Screen.
  3. Select Options and scroll down to where it says "Use Custom Mouse Drivers" and select that.
  4. A box will pop up and you should now select "Use Custom"
  5. Next you need to unplug the mouse and then plug it back in.
  6. Your settings should now be working as you defined in the Contour Overdrive Control Panel.

Please check also the iMac Update 1.1 and device-specific driver removal issues. Remember to restart your Mac after installing the Contour Overdrive.

"The mouse looks dead, and the cursor doesn't move". If you have several devices connected to the same USB port, make sure that all the cables are well plugged and that the total required power doesn't exceed the port's capability. If you use a self-powered USB hub, make sure that its power adapter is plugged at both ends. If the keyboard is dead as well, try to change the way you connected all your USB devices and restart your machine.

If your Mouse was working on your iMac and suddenly loses its button configurations please re-apply the Apple iMac 1.1 Update located on Apple's web site.

"The mouse doesn't work when plugged into the keyboard USB port". Due to a change in Apple's USB Keyboard design there may be an incompatibility between the UniMouse and a limited number of Apple's keyboards. You should plug into ANY USB port (USB Port #2) on your iMac, G3, or G4 other than the keyboard. Each computer has a second USB port or, you can also use a powered USB hub to plug your mouse into. Your mouse should function normally at this time. Downloading drivers will not solve this problem.
