Contour Introduces the Graphite G4 USB UniMouse.

Salem, New Hampshire, September 13, 1999 -- Contour Design, international corporate leader in ergonomically designed input devices, today announced the first USB mouse matching the all new G4. On February 5, 1999 Contour was the first to release matching colors to iMacs and G3’s. The UniMouse is also available in Blueberry, Grape, Lime, Tangerine, Strawberry, and Banana for a perfect match to iMacs and G3s.

The UniMouse™ offers a Universal Serial Bus(USB) interface with 3 programmable buttons for iMac’s, G3’s and G4’s. It features a Full Control Panel (UniMouse OverDrive), application specific settings, line by line scrolling, and Cursor control settings. If you don’t want a full control panel and simply want to choose from preset configurations, drop in drivers (extensions) are available from contour design directly. The UniMouse has a sleek ergonomic body, with soft rubber side grips for maximum comfort and control. Line by line Resolution makes this a Precision mouse for Precision work. On August 5, 1999 -- Contour Design, Inc, announced in conjunction with Terra Soft Solutions, creators of Yellow Dog Linux for multiple platforms, the first officially tested USB 3 Button Mouse to work with Yellow Dog Linux. Contour Design and Terra Soft Solutions have worked together to create a RPM patch for Contour Design's popular UniMouse. This patch allows current users the ability to add 3-button support for the most prominent PowerPC Linux OS. You can now downoad our latest Control Panel driver for the Contour UniMouse. This new driver offers several new features:

  • Scrolling Button - You can assign any of the buttons to scroll your applications by simply clicking the button down and moving the mouse in the direction you want to scroll. The further you move the mouse from the click point, the faster it scrolls.

  • Application Sensitivity - You can make button and cursor speed settings apply only to certain programs plus have one General setting for the rest of your applications.
  • Cursor Speed - You can now choose from many different cursor speed settings rather than the standard few.
