Downloadable Driver Software

By clicking the "Download the driver now" option at the bottom of the page, you will download a file named perf206p.zip, which is the driver for the PS2 Contour Mouse. Please review the installation instructions PRIOR to installation.

For more detailed information about the driver features, download the User's Guide.

Installation Instructions

1. BEFORE YOU BEGIN

To update an existing Contour Mouse driver set, follow the instructions for a first time install. Removing the existing driver is not necessary.

Other mouse software may interfere with installation or use of the Contour Mouse driver; please remove them before installing the Contour Mouse driver:

  • From the Start menu, select Settings, Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs.
  • Select any mouse software that appears on the list.
  • Click Add/Remove to remove the mouse software.
  • Restart Windows and confirm that only the standard Mouse Properties pages are present (Buttons, Pointers, Motion and Hardware). If other pages remain, check your existing mouse documentation for removal instructions.

2. DRIVER INSTALLATION

Shut down your system and connect the Contour Mouse to the round PS/2 mouse port before installing the driver.

Installing the driver set requires system-adminstrator security privileges on Windows 2000 and XP. When you are ready to proceed:

  • Create the directory "contour" on the drive you can access (usually c:\ or d:\ drive)
  • Download the file perf206p.zip.
  • Save it on the directory just created.
  • Unzip the file perf206p.zip in the same directory.
  • Run Setup.
  • Follow the prompts to install the driver. After Setup finishes, it will restart Windows with the new driver.

Notes:

  1. For Windows 2000 and XP users: the Contour Mouse driver is not digitally-signed by Microsoft. A warning message may appear during the installation. Click OK to proceed with the installation.
  2. The same driver supports all sizes of both left handed and right handed Contour Mouse models. To change the Buttons page graphics to match your mouse, double-click the Left.Reg or Right.Reg file on the driver disk. (These files are also copied to the installation directory on your hard drive, usually C:\WINNT\Contour). The change will take effect the next time you open Mouse Properties.
  3. To check the Contour Mouse driver version, right click the tray icon and select About Mouse.

3. PROGRAMMING THE MIDDLE BUTTON FOR DOUBLE CLICK

  1. Double-click the mouse icon in the taskbar tray to open Mouse Properties.
  2. Select the Assignments Tab.
  3. Under Categories select Buttons, which will change the Commands box selections.
  4. Select the PrimaryDoubleClick.
  5. Click in the box that says "Press new key/button shortcut" so that the cursor is flashing in the box.
  6. Click the middle button once. The window will change and it should now say "Auxillary Button".
