1.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
Other mouse software may interfere with installation or use of the
Contour Mouse driver, and should be removed for best results:
- From the Start menu, select Settings,
Control Panel, then Add/Remove Programs.
- Select any mouse software that
appears on the list.
- Click Add/Remove to remove the
mouse software.
Restart Windows and confirm that only
the standard Mouse Properties pages are present:
- Windows 98: Buttons, Pointers,
Motion
- Windows ME: Buttons, Pointers,
Pointer Options
If other pages remain, check your existing
mouse documentation for removal instructions.

DRIVER INSTALLATION
For best results, allow Windows to install its default driver BEFORE
running the driver disk Setup program.
On Windows 98, start by plugging the mouse into any available USB
port, then follow the prompts. Allow Windows to search its driver
database, but none of the optional locations (floppy, CD-ROM, Windows
Update, etc.). In some cases you may be asked to insert the Windows
98 CD-ROM for needed system files.
On Windows ME, plug the mouse into any available USB port. Windows
ME will recognize the new device and automatically install its default
driver.
After your mouse is working with the default Windows driver, you can
upgrade to the Contour driver:
- Insert the driver disk in your
floppy drive.
- From the Start menu, select Run,
type "A:\SETUP" and click OK.
- Follow the prompts to finish the
installation.
3.
